About Caustic Crawler

Caustic Crawler, Creature — insect, designed by Raymond Swanland first released in Feb, 2010 in the set Worldwake.

This card would be beneficial in a black-based control deck that focuses on landfall triggers and creature removal. It can be particularly effective against decks that rely on small creatures or token strategies. However, there are more efficient removal options available in formats where Caustic Crawler is legal, such as Fatal Push or Dismember, which may make it less desirable for competitive play.

Rules

03/01/10

The landfall ability triggers whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control for any reason. It triggers whenever you play a land, as well as whenever a spell or ability (such as Rampant Growth) causes you to put a land onto the battlefield under your control. It will even trigger when a spell or ability causes another player to put a land onto the battlefield under your control (as can happen with Yavimaya Dryad’s ability, for example).
