Aether Tradewinds, Instant, designed by Kieran Yanner first released in Feb, 2010 in the set Worldwake and was printed exactly in 5 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
Aether Tradewinds would be beneficial in a tempo-based deck looking to disrupt the opponent's board state while also bouncing back a key permanent of their own for value. However, there are better options such as Cyclonic Rift which offers a more powerful and versatile board wipe effect. Aether Tradewinds could still see play in more budget-friendly or specific strategy-focused decks, but it may not be a top choice in competitive environments.

If one target permanent becomes an illegal target, the other will be returned to its owner’s hand. If both targets become illegal, Aether Tradewinds won’t resolve.
