About Vedalken Aethermage
Vedalken Aethermage, Creature — vedalken wizard, designed by William Simpson first released in May, 2007 in the set Future Sight.
This card, Vedalken Aethermage, would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on controlling the board by bouncing key opponent creatures like Slivers. It can provide versatility with its flash ability and Wizardcycling, allowing for flexibility in finding specific Wizard cards when needed. However, in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks, there are often more efficient options for creature removal or card advantage, such as Reflector Mage or Snapcaster Mage, which may overshadow Vedalken Aethermage in terms of power level and impact on the game. Overall, while Vedalken Aethermage has its niche uses, it may not see widespread play in highly optimized decks.

Unlike the normal cycling ability, Wizardcycling doesn’t allow you to draw a card. Instead, it lets you search your library for a Wizard card. After you find a Wizard card in your library, you reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library.

Wizardcycling is an activated ability. Effects that interact with activated abilities (such as Stifle or Rings of Brighthearth) will interact with Wizardcycling. Effects that interact with spells (such as Remove Soul or Faerie Tauntings) will not.
