About Macabre Mockery
Macabre Mockery, Instant, designed by Deruchenko Alexander first released in Jan, 2019 in the set Ravnica Allegiance.
This card, Macabre Mockery, would be a great fit for decks that focus on graveyard recursion or stealing opponents' creatures, especially in a Rakdos (Black-Red) aggressive deck. While it provides a temporary power boost and haste, its drawback of sacrificing the creature at the end of the turn limits its long-term effectiveness. Other cards like Animate Dead or Reanimate offer more permanent reanimation options, making them potentially better choices depending on the deck's strategy. However, Macabre Mockery could still see play as a situational and unexpected combat trick in certain aggressive decks.
Rules
01/25/19
If you cast Macabre Mockery during a player’s end step, the creature will remain on the battlefield until the next turn’s end step. However, the +2/+0 and haste wear off during the cleanup step (which comes after the end step) of the turn in which Macabre Mockery resolved.
