About Dark Salvation
Dark Salvation, Sorcery, designed by Cynthia Sheppard first released in Jul, 2016 in the set Eldritch Moon Promos and was printed exactly in 5 different ways.
A deck focused on token generation and sacrificing creatures would benefit from using Dark Salvation in Magic: the Gathering. This card can be particularly effective in a Zombie tribal deck or in a deck that can generate a large number of Zombie tokens quickly. While Dark Salvation can be a strong addition to certain strategies, there are potentially more efficient cards for similar effects, such as Crippling Blight for targeted creature debuffs or Army of the Damned for mass Zombie token creation, so its inclusion would depend on the specific synergies and goals of the deck.

You choose up to one target creature total, not a separate target for each Zombie that player controls.

You may cast Dark Salvation with X as 0 just to have a creature get -1/-1 for each Zombie a player controls, and you may cast it without targeting any creature just to have a player get Zombie tokens. If you really just want to cast a spell, you can even cast it with X as 0 without a target creature and have neither effect do anything.
