About Slaughter Cry

Slaughter Cry, Instant, designed by Matt Cavotta first released in Oct, 2009 in the set Zendikar and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

The Slaughter Cry card would benefit aggressive red decks looking to quickly deal damage and take control of the battlefield. While it can provide a temporary boost and first strike to a creature, there are potentially better options like Lightning Bolt or Lightning Strike for direct damage or Brute Force for a more permanent power boost. Slaughter Cry could see play in certain aggressive strategies, but its effectiveness may vary depending on the overall game plan of the deck.

Rules

10/01/09

If a creature doesn’t have first strike, granting it first strike after combat damage has been dealt in the first combat damage step won’t prevent it from dealing combat damage. It will still assign and deal its combat damage in the second combat damage step.
