About Skullmulcher
Skullmulcher, Creature — elemental, designed by Michael Ryan first released in Oct, 2008 in the set Shards of Alara and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
A deck focused on sacrificing creatures for value, such as a Golgari or Jund sacrifice deck in Magic: the Gathering, would benefit from including Skullmulcher due to its Devour ability providing card draw and potential for a significant power boost. While Skullmulcher is a solid card for such decks, there are potentially better options like Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, which offers a similar effect with added benefits for sacrificing creatures. However, Skullmulcher could still see play in the right deck as a versatile and impactful card.

Because devour applies as Skullmulcher enters the battlefield, it can’t devour creatures that enter the battlefield at the same time as it.
