About Pinecrest Ridge

Pinecrest Ridge, Land, designed by John Avon first released in Oct, 2004 in the set Champions of Kamigawa.

Pinecrest Ridge would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on ramping into larger spells, particularly in a red-green (Gruul) build that utilizes land-based strategies or creature-heavy decks, as it provides both colorless mana and the option for red or green mana at the cost of not untapping on the next turn. However, there are arguably better options like Fabled Passage or Commander's Sphere, which provide more consistent mana fixing and do not come with the drawback of not untapping. While Pinecrest Ridge can see play in casual or themed decks, it may not be optimal in competitive settings where smoother mana curves and flexibility are crucial.
