Decks that need access to both red and green mana would find this card useful for fetching either a Mountain or Forest. However, there are better cards like Fabled Passage or Wooded Foothills that can fetch specific basic land types untapped, making them more efficient choices for most decks. Mountain Valley could see play in budget decks or casual formats where card availability is limited, but in more competitive settings, it may be outclassed by other options.
