About Jwari Shapeshifter

Jwari Shapeshifter, Creature — shapeshifter ally, designed by Kev Walker first released in Feb, 2010 in the set Worldwake and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

This Jwari Shapeshifter card would be a great addition to an Ally tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, allowing for versatile and unexpected plays by copying powerful Ally creatures already on the battlefield. While it is a solid inclusion for its flexibility, some may argue that the card Clone, which can copy any creature on the battlefield regardless of type, might be a more versatile option in certain situations. However, Jwari Shapeshifter's specific synergy with Ally creatures makes it a strong contender for inclusion in Ally tribal decks and could definitely see play in the right deck strategy.

Rules

03/01/10

If the chosen creature is a token, your Jwari Shapeshifter copies the original characteristics of that token as stated by the effect that put the token onto the battlefield. Your Jwari Shapeshifter is not a token.

03/01/10

Jwari Shapeshifter copies exactly what was printed on the original creature and nothing more (unless that creature is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn’t copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, or so on.

03/01/10

You can choose not to copy anything. In that case, Jwari Shapeshifter enters the battlefield as a 0/0 creature, and is probably put into the graveyard immediately.
