Rhys the Exiled would be a great addition to an Elf tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it synergizes well with other Elf creatures to gain life and protect itself. While there may be more powerful options available, such as Ezuri, Renegade Leader for additional buffs or Elvish Archdruid for mana acceleration, Rhys the Exiled can still be a valuable inclusion in decks focused on Elf synergy and should definitely see play in those strategies.

You may sacrifice Rhys the Exiled to pay for its own regeneration ability. However, since Rhys is no longer on the battlefield, the ability will have no effect.
