About Procrastinate

Procrastinate, Sorcery, designed by Elizabeth Peiró first released in Mar, 2026 in the set Secrets of Strixhaven. It see play in 1 formats: Alchemy.

**Procrastinate** fits best in blue tempo or control decks that want to stall a key opposing threat for multiple turns while advancing their own game plan—especially in slower formats like Limited or in Commander, where scaling spells are valuable in the late game. The card is strongest when X is large, effectively locking down a creature for several turns, making it useful against big attackers or commanders that rely on combat. However, it’s generally less efficient than other blue interaction: **Fading Hope**, **Into the Roil**, or **Brazen Borrower** provide tempo at lower cost; **Pongify** and **Rapid Hybridization** permanently remove threats for just one mana; and **Sleep** or **Icy Manipulator**–style effects can impact multiple creatures or provide repeatable tapping. Because Procrastinate doesn’t remove the creature and requires significant mana to be impactful, it’s likely too inefficient for competitive Constructed play, though it could be a flexible, scalable tempo tool in
