About Hooded Brawler

Hooded Brawler, Creature — snake warrior, designed by Daarken first released in Apr, 2017 in the set Amonkhet and was printed exactly in 5 different ways.

Hooded Brawler would be a strong addition to an aggressive green deck focused on exerting creatures and maximizing combat damage. While it offers a solid boost in power and toughness when exerted, there are potentially better options like Glorybringer or Ahn-Crop Crasher that provide more impactful effects for a similar cost. However, Hooded Brawler could still see play in decks looking to maintain a consistent curve of threats and benefit from the exert mechanic.

Rules

04/18/17

If you gain control of another player’s creature until end of turn and exert it, it will untap during that player’s untap step.

04/18/17

You can’t exert a creature unless an effect allows you to do so. Similar effects that “tap and freeze” a creature (such as that of Decision Paralysis) don’t exert that creature.
