Ancient Animus, Instant, designed by Titus Lunter first released in Apr, 2018 in the set Dominaria and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
Ancient Animus would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on legendary creatures and combat strategies, such as a green stompy or midrange deck. While it provides a way to buff a legendary creature and potentially remove an opponent's threat, there are more efficient removal options available in the format, such as Beast Within or Dismember. However, Ancient Animus could still see play in decks looking for additional creature removal options or ways to pump up their legendary creatures.
