A deck that focuses on green creature tokens and enchantments would benefit from using Trial of Strength, as it provides a solid 4/2 Beast token upon entering the battlefield. However, the drawback of being returned to hand when a Cartouche enters can disrupt the card's effectiveness. Decks that can consistently play and benefit from Cartouches may find this interaction useful, but overall there may be better options available that offer more consistent value without the conditional drawback, such as cards like Beast Within or Parallel Lives.

Each Trial has an ability to return to your hand when a Cartouche enters the battlefield under your control. The Trial is returned to its owner’s hand only if it’s on the battlefield as the ability resolves.
