About Heat Ray
Heat Ray, Instant, designed by Brian Snõddy first released in May, 2020 in the set Urza's Saga and was printed exactly in 5 different ways.
This card, Heat Ray, would be beneficial in a red burn deck that focuses on dealing direct damage to creatures to control the board. While Heat Ray is a solid removal option, there are more efficient alternatives like Lightning Bolt or Incinerate that offer similar effects at a lower cost, making them better choices in most scenarios. However, Heat Ray could still see play in budget decks or in specific metas where its flexibility in scaling damage based on available mana is advantageous.
