Den Protector would be a valuable addition to a green-based aggressive deck that aims to overwhelm opponents with powerful creatures. Its ability to make smaller creatures unable to block it can create favorable attacking situations, and its ability to return a card from the graveyard to your hand provides valuable card advantage. While Den Protector is a solid choice for such a deck, there may be better options available depending on the specific strategy and format, such as Eternal Witness for its unconditional graveyard recursion, but Den Protector can still be a strong inclusion in the right deck.

You compare Den Protector’s power to the power of any creature trying to block it only as blockers are assigned. Once Den Protector has been legally blocked by a creature, changing the power of either creature won’t change or undo the block.
