A control or prison-style deck that aims to lock down the opponent's resources and prevent them from interacting with your lands would benefit from using Tomik, Distinguished Advokist. While Tomik's ability to protect lands and prevent opponents from playing lands from graveyards is unique, there may be better options depending on the specific strategy of the deck. Cards like Teferi, Time Raveler or Gideon of the Trials offer additional utility and flexibility in different situations, so Tomik may not always be the best choice, but it could still see play in certain metagames or sideboard situations.
