About The Black Arrow
The Black Arrow, Legendary artifact — equipment, designed by Kevin Sidharta first released in Jul, 2026 in the set The Hobbit.
The Black Arrow would only benefit a very narrow, mostly casual sideboard deck expecting to face Dragons, since its enter-the-battlefield ability can immediately kill any Dragon regardless of toughness; outside of that matchup it is a three-mana artifact that deals only 1 damage and then becomes an Equipment with no stat bonus, making it extremely inefficient. Even in anti-Dragon decks, dedicated removal is generally better: **Bitter Triumph**, **Go for the Throat**, **Infernal Grasp**, **Terminate**, or **Destroy Evil** remove many more creatures for less mana, while **Brittle Effigy** is a colorless artifact option that can exile nearly any creature. It could be a flavorful casual inclusion or a metagame sideboard card if Dragons are exceptionally common, but it should not normally see competitive main-deck play because its non-Dragon mode is far too weak.
