About Sourbread Auntie

Sourbread Auntie, Creature — goblin warrior, designed by John Tedrick first released in Jan, 2026 in the set Lorwyn Eclipsed. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.

Sourbread Auntie would fit best in Rakdos (black-red) Aristocrats or sacrifice-focused aggro/midrange decks that can turn the blight drawback into value—especially builds that benefit from -1/-1 counters (such as counter-synergy shells) or that actively want creatures to die for triggers like Blood Artist–style effects; it’s also reasonable in Goblin tribal lists that want extra bodies for go-wide pressure or sacrifice outlets. However, at 2RR, it competes with stronger four-drops like Siege-Gang Commander (which makes more tokens and provides reach), Squee, Dubious Monarch (cheaper, more aggressive token production), or even Goblin Rabblemaster and Legion Warboss at three mana, which generate immediate pressure without requiring you to shrink your own creature. Unless the deck specifically exploits -1/-1 counters for upside, the rate is merely fair, so while it could see niche play in synergistic Aristocrats or counter-matters builds, it is unlikely to be a staple in competitive forma
