About Sabertooth Outrider
Sabertooth Outrider, Creature — human warrior, designed by Winona Nelson first released in May, 2020 in the set Dragons of Tarkir.
This card would be beneficial in a red-green aggressive deck that focuses on quickly building a strong board presence. Sabertooth Outrider's ability to gain first strike when attacking with a total power of 8 or more can be a game-changer in combat situations. While there may be more powerful cards available, Sabertooth Outrider can still be a valuable addition to decks looking to apply early pressure and maintain board control, especially in a strategy centered around creature power and combat tricks.
Rules
02/25/15
If you control a creature with power less than 0, use its actual power when calculating the total power of creatures you control. For example, if you control three creatures with powers 4, 5, and -2, the total power of creatures you control is 7.
02/25/15
Other formidable abilities are triggered abilities with an “intervening ‘if’” clause. Such abilities check the total power of creatures you control twice: once at the appropriate time to see if the ability will trigger, and again as the ability tries to resolve. If, at that time, the total power of creatures you control is no longer 8 or greater, the ability will have no effect.
