This card would be beneficial in a Golgari midrange or explore-themed deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it synergizes well with the explore mechanic by providing removal for opponent's creatures. However, there are more efficient removal options available in the format, such as Fatal Push or Assassin's Trophy, making Lurking Chupacabra less likely to see play in competitive decks.
