Locke Cole would be most beneficial in a control or midrange deck that focuses on card advantage and disruption. While the Deathtouch and lifelink abilities provide solid combat capabilities, the card draw and discard when dealing combat damage can help maintain hand advantage and filter through the deck for key cards. However, there may be better options for a similar mana cost in those archetypes, such as Snapcaster Mage or Dark Confidant, depending on the overall strategy of the deck.
