Library Larcenist would be a great addition to a tempo-based Merfolk tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides card advantage and helps maintain pressure on the opponent. However, a more competitive alternative could be Silvergill Adept, which not only draws a card when it enters the battlefield but also has the potential to be cast for just U in a Merfolk deck, making it more efficient. While Library Larcenist may not see play in highly competitive environments, it could still be a fun and flavorful inclusion in casual Merfolk decks.
