About Devour Flesh

Devour Flesh, Instant, designed by Kev Walker first released in Feb, 2013 in the set Gatecrash and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

A deck focused on sacrificing creatures for value, such as a sacrifice or aristocrats deck, would benefit from using Devour Flesh in Magic: the Gathering. However, there are better options available, such as Fatal Push or Path to Exile, which offer more versatile removal options. Devour Flesh may not see as much play due to its limited scope and the availability of stronger removal spells in the format.

Rules

01/24/13

Devour Flesh targets only a player. It doesn’t target any creatures. The target player chooses which creature to sacrifice when the spell resolves. That player can sacrifice only a creature they control.
