Cursed Paper Retribution, Normal trap card, designed by Konami first released in Jul, 2026 in the set No set.
A deck that can **profit from having its own monsters destroyed or sent to the GY** would benefit most from **Cursed Paper Retribution**—for example, grindy control decks, decks with floating monsters, or strategies that want to trigger “when destroyed”/“when sent to the GY” effects while also disrupting an opponent’s face-up card. That said, in most cases this card is **worse than existing options**: the first effect is a very awkward 1-for-1 that requires you to destroy your own monster just to temporarily negate one opposing card, and the second effect is only decent if you can reliably set and then send it to the GY, but even then it is still usually inferior to stronger traps like **Infinite Impermanence** (more flexible, immediate, and doesn’t require sacrificing your own monster), **Solemn Strike**/**Solemn Judgment** (more powerful interruption), or even **Compulsory Evacuation Device** and **Torrential Tribute** depending on the deck.
