This card would greatly benefit a white-based control or midrange deck that focuses on filling the graveyard with creatures and planeswalkers to be able to bring them back to the battlefield in a big swing. While Ascend from Avernus can be powerful in the right deck, it may be too costly and slow for competitive play compared to other reanimation spells like Unburial Rites or Living Death, which offer similar effects at a more efficient cost.
