Statute of Denial, Instant, designed by Zoltan Boros first released in May, 2020 in the set Magic 2015.
The Statute of Denial card would benefit control decks in Magic: the Gathering that focus on countering spells and card advantage. It works well in decks with blue creatures to take advantage of the card draw and selection. While there may be better counter spells available, the added card draw and discard can provide additional value in the right deck. Overall, Statute of Denial could see play in certain control decks looking for card advantage.

Whether you control a blue creature is checked only when Statute of Denial resolves. If you do, drawing and discarding a card is mandatory. You can’t choose to not do it.
