About Spontaneous Generation

Spontaneous Generation, Sorcery, designed by Alan Pollack first released in Oct, 1999 in the set Mercadian Masques.

A deck that focuses on drawing and maintaining a large hand size would benefit the most from using Spontaneous Generation in Magic: the Gathering. This card can be particularly powerful in decks that have card draw engines or ways to consistently refill their hand, allowing them to generate a significant number of Saproling tokens. However, there are better options available such as Verdant Confluence which offers more versatility and impact for a similar mana cost, making it a more competitive choice in most scenarios. Overall, while Spontaneous Generation can be fun and flavorful, it may not see much play in more competitive decks due to the availability of stronger alternatives.
