About Public Execution

Public Execution, Instant, designed by Anthony Palumbo first released in Jul, 2012 in the set Magic 2013 and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

This card, Public Execution, would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to remove key threats from the opponent's board while also weakening their other creatures. However, there are better options available such as Murder which is more cost-efficient for creature removal. While Public Execution may have situational uses, it may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its high mana cost and the availability of more efficient alternatives.

Rules

07/01/13

If the target creature regenerates or has indestructible, each other creature controlled by that creature’s controller will still get -2/-0.

07/01/12

Only creatures controlled by the player when Public Execution resolves will get -2/-0. Creatures that enter the battlefield under that player’s control or that the player gains control of later in the turn are unaffected.
