This card, Lignify, would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on controlling the opponent's creatures by reducing their power and toughness and stripping away their abilities. While Lignify can be effective in certain situations, there are arguably better options such as Song of the Dryads, which permanently removes a creature and turns it into a Forest land. Whether Lignify should see play depends on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck, but it may not always be the optimal choice compared to other removal options available.

Lignify will not overwrite effects such as those from Glorious Anthem, counters, or Giant Growth that change the enchanted creature’s power or toughness without setting it to a specific value. Apply such effects after applying Lignify.

If a previous effect switched the creature’s power and toughness, that effect still applies (though it will apply to the creature’s new power and toughness).
