About Fractured Identity
Fractured Identity, Sorcery, designed by Yongjae Choi first released in Nov, 2016 in the set Treasure Chest and was printed exactly in 9 different ways. It's a key card in 8 combos.
A control deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's board state would benefit from using Fractured Identity in Magic: the Gathering. While it can be a powerful removal tool, there are potentially better options available such as Swords to Plowshares or Path to Exile for more efficient removal. Fractured Identity could see play in certain metagames where creating copies of an opponent's threat could be advantageous, but it may not be a staple card in most competitive decks due to its high mana cost and potential downside of benefiting the opponent.
Rules
08/25/17
Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied permanent will trigger when the tokens enter the battlefield. Any “As [this permanent] enters the battlefield” or “[This permanent] enters the battlefield with” abilities of the copied permanent will also work.
08/25/17
If the copied permanent was copying something else, the tokens enter the battlefield as whatever that permanent was copying.
08/25/17
The tokens copy exactly what was printed on the permanent and nothing else (unless that permanent was copying something else or was a token; see below). They don’t copy whether that permanent was tapped or untapped, whether it had any counters on it or Auras and/or Equipment attached to it, or any non-copy effects that changed its power, toughness, types, color, and so on.
