About Valakut Predator
Valakut Predator, Creature — elemental, designed by Kev Walker first released in Oct, 2015 in the set Battle for Zendikar and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Valakut Predator would be a great fit in a red-green landfall deck in Magic: the Gathering, where you can take advantage of its ability to grow in power each time a land enters the battlefield. While it's a solid card for this strategy, there are potentially better options like Tarmogoyf or Scavenging Ooze that offer more consistent value and versatility. However, Valakut Predator could still see play in more budget-friendly or theme-focused decks looking to maximize landfall triggers.
Rules
08/25/15
A landfall ability triggers whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control for any reason. It triggers whenever you play a land, as well as whenever a spell or ability puts a land onto the battlefield under your control.
08/25/15
If the ability has an additional or replacement effect that depends on the land having a certain basic land type, the ability will check that land’s type as the ability resolves. If, at that time, the land that entered the battlefield is no longer on the battlefield, use its types when it left the battlefield to determine what happens.
