About Scorched Earth
Scorched Earth, Sorcery, designed by Nicola Leonard first released in Oct, 1997 in the set Tempest and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
A land destruction deck would benefit from using Scorched Earth to aggressively disrupt opponents' mana bases. However, a more efficient alternative would be Strip Mine, which can destroy any land without requiring additional costs. While Scorched Earth could be situationally useful in a land destruction strategy, it may not be the optimal choice for consistent gameplay and may not see widespread play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks.
