About Phylactery Lich
Phylactery Lich, Creature — zombie, designed by Michael Komarck first released in Jul, 2010 in the set Magic 2011 and was printed exactly in 4 different ways. It's a key card in 1 combos.
Phylactery Lich would be a great addition to a deck that focuses on controlling artifacts, as it provides a strong, indestructible threat that can be difficult for opponents to deal with. While it does have the drawback of needing an artifact with a phylactery counter to remain on the battlefield, this can be mitigated by including other artifacts in the deck that can benefit from the counter. However, there are potentially better options available depending on the specific strategy of the deck, such as Master of Etherium or Steel Overseer for artifact-focused decks, or other powerful black creatures like Grave Titan for more general black decks. Overall, Phylactery Lich could see play in the right deck, but its effectiveness will depend on the overall synergy and strategy of the deck it is included in.
Rules
07/13/18
If Phylactery Lich and an artifact are entering the battlefield under your control at the same time, you can’t put a phylactery counter on that artifact. You must choose an artifact you control that’s already on the battlefield.
07/13/18
Phylactery Lich’s first ability doesn’t target the artifact. No player may take actions between the time you choose an artifact and the time you put a phylactery counter on it.
07/13/18
Phylactery Lich’s last ability checks your permanents for any phylactery counters, not just the specific one that it caused you to put on an artifact. For example, if you control two Phylactery Liches and two different artifacts with phylactery counters, neither Phylactery Lich will be sacrificed if one of those artifacts leaves the battlefield.
