About Kukemssa Pirates

Kukemssa Pirates, Creature — human pirate, designed by Jock first released in May, 2020 in the set Mirage.

A deck focused on controlling artifacts or disrupting the opponent's strategy would benefit from using Kukemssa Pirates in Magic: the Gathering. While it offers a unique ability to steal artifacts, its drawback of not dealing combat damage can be a significant downside. There are potentially better cards like Vedalken Shackles or Thada Adel, Acquisitor that offer similar effects with fewer restrictions, making Kukemssa Pirates less likely to see play in competitive decks.

Rules

04/15/13

An ability that triggers when something “attacks and isn’t blocked” triggers in the declare blockers step after blockers are declared if (1) that creature is attacking and (2) no creatures are declared to block it. It will trigger even if that creature was put onto the battlefield attacking rather than having been declared as an attacker in the declare attackers step.
