This card, Hail Storm, could be beneficial in a deck that focuses on controlling the board by punishing aggressive strategies. Decks that aim to stall the game and slowly build up their own board presence could find value in using Hail Storm to clear out attacking creatures. However, there are more efficient board wipe cards available in Magic: the Gathering, such as Wrath of God or Damnation, which offer more powerful and versatile effects without the drawback of damaging your own creatures.
