About Chance Encounter
Chance Encounter, Enchantment, designed by Mark Brill first released in Oct, 2001 in the set Odyssey and was printed exactly in 4 different ways. It's a key card in 1 combos.
A deck that focuses on coin flip mechanics or has ways to manipulate coin flips, such as cards like Krark's Thumb or Fiery Gambit, would benefit from including Chance Encounter. However, the card's high mana cost and reliance on luck make it less competitive in most decks, as there are more consistent win conditions available. Cards like Laboratory Maniac or Thassa's Oracle offer more reliable ways to win the game and would likely see more play in competitive decks.
Rules
02/01/09
You can only win a coin flip if you are the player flipping the coin. Your opponent losing a flip does not count as you winning one. This is a reversal of previous rulings.
