However, given its high mana cost and relatively slow effect, other cards like Trinket Mage or Trophy Mage may offer more efficient ways to tutor for specific cards in a deck, making Self-Assembler less likely to see play in competitive Magic: the Gathering formats.

Self-Assembler’s ability can find any creature card with the Assembly-Worker subtype, not only creature cards named Assembly-Worker. Notably, it can’t find Mishra’s Factory.
