A Simic ramp or control deck would benefit from using Growth Spiral, as it provides card advantage and accelerates mana development. While Growth Spiral is a solid card in these strategies, some may argue that Explore is a better alternative due to its lower mana cost and immediate card draw. However, Growth Spiral should still see play in decks looking to ramp quickly and maintain card advantage.

Growth Spiral’s effect doesn’t count as playing a land. It can put a land card onto the battlefield even if it’s not your turn or if you’ve already played your land for the turn.
