It can fit well in control or midrange decks that utilize black mana, as it can be cast for free under the right conditions, allowing for efficient graveyard hate. However, there are other cards like Leyline of the Void or Rest in Peace that offer more permanent solutions to graveyard strategies, as they prevent cards from even reaching the graveyard in the first place. While Ravenous Trap can see play in specific metas where graveyard strategies are prevalent, it may not be the most optimal choice compared to these alternatives.
