Mutant Chain Reaction would fit best in a green midrange or +1/+1 counters–focused deck, especially one that can take advantage of incremental counter value and doesn’t mind flexible but slightly inefficient removal; it also suits token-sacrifice or artifact-synergy builds that can reuse or care about artifacts entering or leaving the battlefield. However, at three mana, it’s competing with much stronger and more efficient options: **Reclamation Sage** (creature body plus artifact/enchantment removal), **Cankerbloom** (flexible removal with proliferate), **Broken Wings** (similar flexibility at instant speed), and especially **Boseiju, Who Endures**, which offers far greater efficiency and resilience; for counter synergies, cards like **Hardened Scales**, **The Ozolith**, or repeatable counter engines generally provide more impactful value.
