This card, Take Heart, would benefit a white aggro deck that focuses on attacking with multiple creatures to gain life and pump up a key creature for a lethal blow. While Take Heart is a solid card for such a strategy, a potentially better option could be Giant Growth, which provides a bigger power boost without the life gain. However, Take Heart could still see play in decks looking to gain incremental life advantage while maintaining board presence.

You can cast Take Heart even if you control no attacking creatures, perhaps because it’s not even your turn. The target creature gets +2/+2 even though you don’t gain life.
