This card, Standard Bearer, would be beneficial in a deck focused on protecting key creatures or preventing opponents from targeting important cards with spells or abilities. It could work well in a White Weenie or control deck strategy. However, there are better options like Mother of Runes or Giver of Runes which provide similar protection abilities with more versatility and resilience. Standard Bearer could see play in specific metagames where targeted spells are prevalent, but overall, it may not be a top choice in competitive Magic: The Gathering decks.
