This card would be beneficial in a white-based control or enchantment-focused deck, as it provides a way to search for powerful enchantments when it dies without any time counters. While Lost Auramancers can be a useful tool for fetching enchantments, there are potentially better options like Academy Rector or Idyllic Tutor that offer more immediate and reliable ways to search for enchantments, making Lost Auramancers less likely to see play in competitive Magic: The Gathering decks.

If an Aura is put onto the battlefield without being cast, the Aura’s controller-to-be chooses what it will enchant as it enters the battlefield. An Aura put onto the battlefield this way doesn’t target anything (so it could be attached to a permanent with shroud, for example), but the Aura’s enchant ability restricts what it can be attached to. If the Aura can’t legally be attached to anything, it remains in its current zone.

Lost Auramancers doesn’t have to have been sacrificed as part of the vanishing ability for its last ability to trigger. It will trigger no matter why it was put into a graveyard from the battlefield, as long as it had no time counters on it at the time.
