Kinetic Ooze fits best in a mono‑green or green‑based ramp/midrange deck that can generate large amounts of mana (e.g., with Llanowar Elves, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, or mana‑doublers) and that also leverages +1/+1 counter synergies such as Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, or Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, since it scales well at higher X values and can double counters across your board; it also has utility in +1/+1 counter “go tall/go wide” strategies where the X≥10 mode becomes a finisher. That said, it competes with more efficient and flexible options: Voracious Hydra offers scalable removal plus a large body, Bane of Progress is often stronger against artifact/enchantment decks, and cards like Reclamation Sage or Boseiju, Who Endures provide cheaper, more reliable interaction, while Hydroid Krasis (in Simic) gives more consistent card advantage at high X.
