The Brine Giant would be a great addition to an enchantment-heavy deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it becomes cheaper to cast the more enchantments you have on the battlefield. However, if you're looking for a more efficient option, the card Sphinx of Foresight could be a better choice due to its powerful scrying ability and flying. Whether Brine Giant should see play depends on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck, but it could definitely be a strong inclusion in the right enchantment-focused build.

Once you announce that you’re casting a spell, no player may take actions until the spell has been paid for. Notably, opponents can’t try to change by how much Brine Giant’s cost is reduced.

To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you’re paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions (such as that of Brine Giant). The converted mana cost of the spell remains unchanged, no matter what the total cost to cast it was.
